Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet your friendly guide, who will take you to your hotel in Moshi. Once you settle in, you can relax and prepare for your big adventure ahead. Spend the evening at a brief meeting, where you’ll learn about the details of the climb and what to expect. Explore the town, shop for any last-minute gear, and enjoy a good night’s sleep as you get ready to start your climb in the morning.
After breakfast, set off for the Rongai Gate, which takes about two and a half hours to reach. Once you arrive, complete the necessary park registrations, and then start your hike. The trail takes you through beautiful pine forests, where you might spot some wildlife. Enjoy a packed lunch along the way. After several hours of hiking, arrive at Simba Camp, located at 2,630 meters. Here, you can relax and enjoy dinner, surrounded by stunning views of the mountain.
Start your day with breakfast, then continue your ascent to Second Cave, which is at an elevation of 3,450 meters. The trail offers fantastic views of the Kenyan plains, and as you walk, you’ll see the landscape change around you. Enjoy a packed lunch at a scenic spot before reaching camp. Once you arrive, set up your tent and enjoy the evening meal. Take in the tranquil environment, relax with your fellow climbers, and get ready for another exciting day ahead.
This morning, after breakfast, you’ll hike towards Kikelewa Camp, located at 3,600 meters. The trek involves rocky terrain and beautiful moorland scenery, making it an interesting and enjoyable day. Along the way, stop for a packed lunch and take in the views. As you approach Kikelewa Camp, you’ll notice the changing climate and landscape as you gain altitude. Once at camp, settle into your tents and enjoy dinner under the stars, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.
After breakfast, you’ll set off for one of the most beautiful parts of the climb: Mawenzi Tarn Camp at 4,330 meters. This trek provides stunning views of Mawenzi Peak as you walk, giving you plenty of opportunities for great photos. Enjoy a packed lunch on the way. When you reach Mawenzi Tarn, you’ll find the scenery is truly breathtaking. Spend the afternoon relaxing and acclimatizing. Dinner will be served, providing energy for your upcoming summit attempt.
Take this day to acclimatize to the altitude and enjoy your surroundings. After breakfast, you can explore the area around Mawenzi Peak on a short hike. This will help your body adjust to the higher altitude, preparing you for the final summit push. Enjoy a picnic lunch amid incredible views. In the afternoon, return to camp to rest and hydrate. For dinner, gather with your group to share experiences and excitement about the summit day ahead.
Wake up very early to enjoy a quick breakfast before starting your summit attempt! You’ll begin the climb to Uhuru Peak at midnight when temperatures are cooler. The path can be challenging, but the reward of reaching the summit at 5,895 meters is worth it. After taking photos and celebrating your achievement at the top, start descending back to Horombo Hut for lunch. It’s a long trek down, so pace yourself. Once at Horombo, enjoy dinner and share stories about your amazing journey to the summit.
After breakfast, you’ll begin your final descent to the Marangu Gate. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you walk downhill. Once you arrive at the gate, you’ll sign out and receive your climbing certificates. Have a celebratory lunch and reflect on the incredible journey you just completed. Afterward, head back to Moshi for a farewell dinner with your group. You’ll have the chance to share stories and memories before preparing for your departure.
