Booking Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Shayo Trekking and Safaris! By booking a tour with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Booking and Payment:

  • Deposit: A deposit of 15% of the total tour cost is required to confirm your booking. This deposit is due within 7 days of receiving your booking confirmation.
  • Balance Payment: The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your tour’s departure date or on arrival.
  • Payment Methods: We accept payments via bank transfer and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard). Please note that bank transaction fees may apply.
  • Pricing: All tour prices are quoted in US dollars. We reserve the right to adjust prices due to fluctuations in currency exchange rates, fuel surcharges, or government-imposed taxes. Any price adjustments will be communicated to you in advance.
  1. Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email.
  • Cancellation fees are as follows:
    • More than 90 days prior to departure: Loss of deposit.
    • 60-89 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost.
    • 30-59 days prior to departure: 75% of the total tour cost.
    • Less than 30 days prior to departure: 100% of the total tour cost.
  • Airline ticket cancelation policies are separate from our own, and subject to the airline’s terms.
  1. Travel Documents:

  • You are responsible for ensuring you have a valid passport (with at least six months validity beyond your return date), necessary visas, and required health documents.
  • We can provide guidance on visa requirements, but we are not responsible for any issues arising from incorrect or incomplete documentation.

 

 

  1. Liability:

  • We are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to:
    • Force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, political unrest)
    • Actions of third-party suppliers
    • Client negligence
  • We strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover medical expenses, trip cancellations, and other unforeseen events.  

 

  1. Itinerary Changes:

  • We reserve the right to modify itineraries due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather conditions or safety concerns.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative arrangements and ensure your safety and satisfaction.
  1. Health and Safety:

  • Please inform us of any relevant medical conditions or dietary restrictions at the time of booking.
  • We recommend consulting your doctor for advice on vaccinations and other health precautions before traveling to Tanzania.
  1. Travel Insurance:

  • It is mandatory that all clients have comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, evacuation, and trip cancellation.
  1. Governing Law:

  • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
  1. Client Responsibility:

  • Clients are responsible for their own personal belongings.
  • Clients are expected to respect local customs and regulations.
  • Clients are expected to behave in a respectful manner towards other clients, crew members, and the general public.
